As golf instruction has exploded over the past decades there has been a lack of support and education to help the thousands of teachers who attempt to not only help students get better but run their own businesses.
I just wanted to say thank you. Your interviews have completely changed my commute to and from the course. My mind gets sharpened by listening to your interviews and thank you for asking such great questions. I am learning from the instructors answers but also how to ask great questions. Keep up the great work!
Let’s get real. There are more people struggling to make $20,000 in a year than those trying to figure out how to get over the 6 figure mark. Here’s the problem with that… $20,000 simply isn’t enough to support a family with, causing more and more instructors to leave and find a new career.
And if more quality instructors and coaches leave the game that means golf is going to remain stale and continue to decrease in popularity.

One recurring theme with all effective golf instructors is their approach to getting RESULTS.
Now we’re not just talking about better swings and technically sound movements but lower scores and better performances. You have the choice to be a COACH and get students to better performance or a teacher/instructor who relays information and education to a student.
A coach looks holistically at a player and guides a long-term improvement plan and keeps them accountable to it. Often looking at far more than just golf swing and helping a player mentally, and helping a student understand effective practice.
The mindset of a someone who get’s students better results is mission #1.

Efficient in their business
Every golf instructor is NOT small business owner or entrepreneur but most have been forced to become one in an environment where they’re forced to be independent contractors to make a decent living.
Education around entrepreneurship and running a business just hasn’t been provided for the majority of instructors and coaches out there.
Most instructors fall into the trap of selling as many 1-1 lessons as possible and hoping one day they can raise their price enough to increase revenue or bring on another instructor to help them.
This is the current paradigm that most people view golf instruction solely as is BROKEN.
