Chris looked at the jr golf world and saw a problem. He was teaching a lot of kids every week and helping them get better, but there weren’t enough good tournaments for his students. So… He started his own tour.

Even though their first tournament was a struggle (some people might call it a failure) they didn’t stop and have built Future Champions Golf into a massive junior tour all across the world.

In this conversation we talk about some of the major factors related to coaching juniors and achieving high levels of performance:

  • School and workload that influences attitude and energy.
  • How to have the hard conversations with parents about their junior golfers.
  • Biggest factors between success and failure.
  • The role of an effective team around a jr golfer.
  • Why playing LESS golf might help.
  • The effectiveness of supervised practice session in jr coaching.

If you teach a lot of junior golfers make sure to apply for the Future Golf Champions 2017 Top 25 Elite Junior Golf Coach Award.  You can see all the details here.
