Pro Tour Golf College: high priced, small niche, huge success – part 2

Pro Tour Golf College golf instruction finding a niche

David and Lawrie offer a high priced, intense coaching program, for players who want to play professionally (in one of the most remote parts of the world) We talk about how they have structured their program. How they work with groups of 8-10 golfers in a very practical sense. (we’ll also go over pricing and length of the program)

Their biggest win so far has been with online marketing (we’ll talk about this more in next weeks show) Youtube videos that have nearly 4 million views. The importance of communication and why studying NLP has helped him market and better communication with students and might be the secret for why their marketing is working so well.

You’ll be surprised what doors starting this program has opened and how it has led them to turn over $1,000,000 in their first year.

We also cover how they have built their track record and put themselves into positions to succeed. Hint: it’s not about staying in your backyard.

Pro Tour Golf College: Breaking the Mold – part 1

Pro Tour Golf College David Milne Lawrie Montague
David Milne and Lawrence Montague are the two instructors behind Pro Tour Golf College. They have been servicing the niche of golfers who want to take it to the next level – either professionally or high level amateurs with some stunning success from both player results and financially (we’re talking $1 million in their first year)

This idea came after they both sat down and decided to “start fresh” and develop an instruction and business model that worked. I really believe these two guys are doing it right and are providing a lot of value not only to their students but to all golfers with the content they’re producing on a weekly basis.

Lawrie Montague has been a member of the Professional Golfers Association of Australia since 1985. A former National Coach of Australia (1992 – 1999) and a career golf instructor for more than twenty years, he has spent more than twenty five thousand hours on the lesson tee honing the games of novice golfers through to tournament professionals.

David Milne
Australian PGA Teacher of the Year 1998/2003
Australian Golf Digest Coach of the Year 2009
West Australian PGA Teacher of the Year 1998, 99,01,02,03,08

Tom Stickney: Crafting an outstanding lesson experience – part 1

Tom Stickney top 100 Golf instructor
I hit record as Tom and I start chatting about how he got started and why people came to Tom even when he was just getting started.

Tom has always tried to give people something they can’t find anywhere else. (that’s why he uses Trackman, 4 camera video, force plates, etc)

He had the dream to play golf for a living but realized that he was better at helping teammates hit the ball better than shooting 65 himself. We chat through how he landed his first teaching gig and what happened when he took a big risk and spent $25k on technology.

We chat about why people kept coming back to him even though he might not have been a “great” teacher when first getting started.

Tom is currently the Director of Instruction at the Big Horn Golf Club in Palm Desert, California and in the summertime at the Promontory Golf Club in Park City, Utah.
